Remedial massage aims to rehabilitate and restore function to a problem area in the body. It begins with the assessment of the musculoskeletal system to identify specific issues, followed by expert massage techniques to treat them.
Treatment will include detailed assessment of the musculoskeletal system, techniques such as deep tissue, trigger point, myofascial release, joint mobilisations & stretching and a customised treatment plan.

Relaxation massage
Relaxation massage aims to relieve the body and mind of stress by using smooth, flowing massage techniques which promote relaxation and soothe the nervous system. It is a general body massage effective in improving the sense of well-being by stimulating blood flow and lymphatic drainage.
This massage will include various strokes such as effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement & vibration to gently knead the stress from your muscles.
Treatments Available Include

Frequently Asked Questions
Does remedial massage hurt
When treating the cause of the problem, it’s normal to experience a little discomfort; however, clients say it’s so relieving to finally have the epicentre of their problem released, with the right techniques and with minimal pain. It’s helpful to have feedback throughout the treatment.
What Treatment Plan Can I Expect?
Treatment will commence by looking at your overall health and medical history. Then, your posture will be observed and range of movement tested. Once the dysfunction has been identified, a treatment plan will be designed to specifically address your complaint.
What Should I Wear?
Once the initial assessment has been done, it’s best to remove clothing from where the treatment will be applied, except for underwear. Elastic waisted shorts or pants are ideal when working on the lower back, hips and legs. You will have complete privacy whilst undressing and redressing and, during treatment, your modesty will be preserved at all times, and you will be treated with the utmost professionalism.
*Please note: you must leave your underwear on. Not only is it an industry requirement, I need somewhere to tuck your towel!
What product do you use in a treatment?
Toccare use Leonardi massage oil, ultra nourishing body massage oil formulated to restore and re-hydrate dry skin leaving it velvety soft. It combines the healing and soothing properties of pure essential oils with a synergistic bio active blend of Almond, Rice Bran and Wheatgerm oils.
We also use VJ’s muscle balm. Muscle Balm contains a unique blend of beeswax, emu, apricot kernel and essential oils.
How Often Should I Have Massage?
Whilst many people find relief after their first treatment, solving the cause of the problem may take 3-5 treatments, or longer, depending how chronic or acute the problem is; however if there’s little relief from your pain, or improvement in your range of movement within this timeframe, you will be referred to another health practitioner for further exploration. Many clients have stated how much better they feel for having regular massage. Some come weekly, some fortnightly and some at later intervals. Once a month, minimum, is ideal. Of course, the decision regarding how often you have a massage, is yours.
How Much Will It Cost?
Experience, skills and qualifications are extremely important when looking for a remedial therapist. No one wants to waste their time or hard earned money. I’m neither the cheapest nor the most expensive remedial therapist; however, few therapists provide such profound relief and improvement in such a short space of time; therefore, your overall cost is generally much cheaper and far more beneficial.
Do I Need A Referral?
No referral is needed, however many doctors, chiropractors and physiotherapists cross-refer to Remedial Massage Therapists for expert, hands-on muscle treatment.
Can I Claim Treatments Through Medicare or my Health Fund?
Massage is not covered by Medicare, although most health funds offer partial rebates for Remedial Massage. Check with your health fund for details.
